Machine learning is an application of AI that enables systems to learn and improve from experience without being explicitly programmed. Machine learning focuses on developing computer programs that can access data and use it to learn for themselves.

Machine Learning (ML) is  a subset of artificial intelligence (AI). ML is  the area of computational science that focuses on analyzing and interpreting patterns and structures in data to enable learning, reasoning, and decision making outside of human interaction.

ML  focuses on using data and algorithms to mimic human learning, allowing machines to improve over time, becoming increasingly accurate when making predictions or classifications, or uncovering data-driven insights.

It works in three basic ways, starting with using a combination of data and algorithms to predict patterns and classify data sets, an error function that helps evaluate the accuracy, and then an optimization process to fit the data points into the model best.

Machine learning algorithms use historical data as input to predict new output values.

The key difference between a deemed university and a university is that a deemed university is not a full-fledged university but is given the status of autonomy provided to a university by allotting it the title of “deemed” by DHE under MHRD on the advice of UGC.

Deemed university is neither completely private and nor completely under the government.

A Deemed-to-be university is affiliated to the UGC but enjoys autonomy in deciding courses, syllabus, fees and admission process.

An autonomous university/college  means a university that exercises independent control over its day-to-day operations and curriculum.

Autonomous colleges are affiliated by any Government university but follow their own grade system for their academic courses instead of following the university's syllabus.

Bifocal Courses are those vocational subjects prescribed by the Directorate of Vocational Education and Training can be taken as an optional subject (200 marks) with Arts, Commerce or Science streams.

A bifocal programme allows students from the science stream to skip second language and biology subjects during Class 11 and 12, and instead take a 200-mark elective like electrical maintenance or computer science.

The main advantage of these course is that it reduces one language subject and helps you in getting direct admission to second year of diploma in the selected branch.

Also good scoring is possible with less efforts.

The base for the next future subjects in graduation becomes strong due to the vocational subjects.

NCERT Books -
  • NCERT Textbooks are prescribed by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
  • These are for classes I to XII, with exceptions for a few subjects.
  • 19 school boards from 14 states have adopted or adapted the books.

  6. The Distance Education Council (DEC) was set up by IGNOU in 1991 and became operational in 1992.
  7. In August 2010, the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) constituted a committee for investigating distance education standards in India.
  8. The committee recommended the creation of a new regulatory body, the Distance Education Council of India (DECI).
  9. It also recommended that until such body is established, the DEC may be shifted to UGC.
  10. On 29 December 2012, the MHRD published an Order transferring the regulatory authority of distance education from IGNOU to UGC.
  11. In May 2013 IGNOU dissolved the DEC and the UGC took over the entire assets and manpower, establishing the Distant Education Bureau.

  8. IGNOU is a trusted and accredited government distance education university in India as well as abroad and can be used as a stepping stone for your dreams of a higher education abroad.

Institutes that offer degrees with low or no entry requirements whatsoever are open universities. They keep an open-door education system wherein admission is granted based on minimum education and previous academic record. These universities do follow a ‘no-classroom’ teaching method. This in turn, makes the fees affordable to all people coming from different backgrounds including working professionals as well. University of Delhi School of Open Learning, IGNOU, Dr. BR Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU) are few examples.

ICSE can help your child in the development of his core personality traits, hone his skills.

CBSE can help achieve his career goals.

  • ICSE boards give more emphasis to the English language as the medium of instruction. It gives them leverage when appearing for TOEFL, IELTS, and other standard exams that serve as a standard score for entry to foreign universities. On the contrary, the CBSE board doesn’t prefer any language.

CBSE focuses on Science and Mathematics .

ICSE Board gives equal importance to other subject streams, including Art, Language, Science, Mathematics, and even Humanities.

CBSE - CBSE is the primary board of education in India for school students. It conducts national level exams for students that serve as standard minimum eligibility to pursue higher education. The most striking feature of CBSE is that it conducts national level entrance examinations for admission to different engineering and medical courses at the undergraduate level.

ICSE - The Indian Certificate of Secondary Education was established by the Local Examinations Syndicate of the University of Cambridge. It conducts the ICSE Examination at the end of the 10th grade and the Indian School Certificate (ISC) Examination at the end of the 12th grade.

  • CBSE syllabus gives a push to all the theoretical concepts and the syllabus is less as compared to ICSE. The curriculum is divided into a set of modules and units and CBSE pre-decides the number of lectures it should take to cover the syllabus.
  • ICSE stresses the detailed study of the subjects covered. It focuses on practical knowledge and concepts. ICSE aims to develop analytical skills in its students, which helps them in exams like TOEFL.

  • The syllabus of CBSE is fruitful for students aspiring to sit for national levels entrance examinations such as IIT-JEE, and NEET. The abundance of theoretical information helps students gain knowledge from an exam point of view.
  • ICSE Boards help cultivate better analytical abilities, an in-depth understanding owing to the extensive and complex syllabus. ICSE prepares you for exams like TOEFL.

  • CBSE offers multiple Talent Search exams and bestows various forms of scholarships to its students.
  • The ICSE does not provide scholarships to its students, while the schools are allowed to do so by themselves.

  • Transfers from the ICSE Board to CBSE are only possible, in case the student and his family has relocated to a new place. Otherwise, CBSE demands the student to study the IX and XI standards from CBSE itself.
  • ICSE Board does not accept students from other boards in Classes Xth and XIIth. To be eligible to get admission in these classes, you must have studied with the ICSE in IX and XI standards respectively.

  • ICSE focuses on the complete growth and grooming of a child.
